I am pretty sure that this site has weathered the storm, and I will start posting here again. I am not really sure, but the trend of views and their location seem to imply that it should not be an issue anymore. Research has been going well, lots of fun, with getting the data working, but it is slowly being buttoned up, which is nice. My qual prep is going very slow, which is a problem, but it is nice that I am not taking classes right now. I have been pretty busy with going out and exploring stuff, but that is expected with my recient change in life. Other than that, I have not really spent that much time on my projects that I wished to accomplish this quarter. projects.blue.shell.la is not feeling the love these days. I will be getting it to be an external wiki at some point, but right now my list of projects lack any real information on what I wish to do with them, so fuck it.
Node02 went down the other day becuase kobalt killed it. I am thinking that I will push the dns stuff to Node01, and do the reinstall of Ubuntu, and get it operational as a new base node. and then copy it over to Node01, so that I have a geographicaly seperated fault tolerant system that I hoped to setup. I really should just buy two boxes and set that up. I realy have to figure out Node04, but I bet that it was lost due to the HD, or a cleaning of the network. I am thinking about setting that up here as well but I need to find an open eth connection.
The ACS network ops here, seem to have some fit about letting people go with their machines, and requiring alot of crap to be installed that wont mitigate the spread of anything. AVs these days just seem bloated, and lack any sort of actual protection to the network. Ugh, well I guess I should just start VPNing all of this so that it is not an issue what I do on the network anyway. hence the need for revamping the nodes. I need to start leaving nodes on other people’s networks so that I can hold a larger band when moving things. But I guess that is going to be more work than I expcect.
It is quite nice to be back on WP. Although I should cp my other site here, I doubt that I will any time soon. and just rss it to an archive at some point. I guess that the only thing that I have left to say, is that the Book is on the shelf, waiting to be read at some future point.
